Summary

The CribMaster Mobile Next Gen is a mobile based application for iOS and Android that allows workers to access and interact with their inventories from any web enabled mobile device; employees can issue and return items from the app on their personal or work issued mobile device.

The end goal was to create a safer vending experience by reducing the need to use shared devices.

The Details

Initially, we agreed to a complete redesign of the app. When we presented the new design to the

leadership, they thought it was a beautifully rendered design and loved the direction we were

going. However, they felt like it was a little off the mark of what they wanted the app to look like.

I sat together with the team, asked more questions and rediscovered what they really wanted.

This time I was determined to knock it out of the park on the revision.

The revision was more or less a design re-skin. We decided to retain the old code to avoid drastic modifications. We improved the overall look and legibility of every screen, gave the app a robust search bar and introduced a new scan icon.

The new scan icon allows for a remote login so that users can complete cycle counts on the go, quickly

reorder inventory, and punching in the quantity they need to order without touching any device.
